Inside LMW: Where Learning Gets Real
Industrial Visit to Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW): Learning Beyond the Classroom
Today was one of those days when learning felt real. Our industrial visit to Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) turned out to be an eye-opening experience and a perfect break from routine classroom learning.
We got the chance to walk through their production unit and see how textile machinery actually works in real time. Machines we usually read about—like Carding, Draw Frame, Comber, and Speed Frame—suddenly made a lot more sense when we saw them in action. Concepts such as 5S and Kaizen, which can feel abstract in textbooks, became very clear once we observed how they are practiced on the shop floor.
What really stood out was the clean, well-organized environment and the strong focus on safety throughout the facility. The entire visit was made even more enjoyable thanks to the friendly and patient guidance from the LMW team, especially HR Uma Bharati ma’am, who explained everything in a simple and approachable way.
This visit truly helped us connect classroom theories with real industry practices, making learning more meaningful and practical.
A big thank you to our BBA Department and Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women for arranging such a valuable experience. Opportunities like this definitely make student life richer and more inspiring 🙏
